Where you are

You didn't quit. Life got loud.

Most of the people I train over 40 tell me the same story, in a different order.

  • The kids arrived, and the 6 a.m. run didn't survive them.
  • The job got bigger. Dinners got later. Travel became constant.
  • An injury put you on the sidelines, and the sidelines got comfortable.
  • Eating became whatever was fastest between meetings.
  • Every January you meant to start. Every February you were still deciding where.

None of that is a character flaw. It's a scheduling problem and a starting-point problem. Both are solvable, and neither one is yours to solve alone.

How it works

Three steps. The first one takes fifteen minutes.

1

Consultation

15 minutes · free · by phone

We talk about where you are, what you want back, your week, old injuries, and where you'd like to train. If we're a fit, we book your assessment. If we're not, I'll tell you.

Answer a few questions before the call and we'll use the fifteen minutes better.

2

Assessment

Your first session · 60 minutes

Movement screen, strength baseline, injury history, and a look at your calendar. You leave with a plan built for your body and your schedule, not a template.

3

Train

60 minutes · 2–3× a week · standing appointments

I come to your building's gym, your home, or a private gym. Strength first, conditioning that doesn't feel like punishment, mobility in every session. We review every ten sessions and adjust.

The first ten sessions

What changes, and roughly when.

Sessions 1–3

You stop dreading it.

Stiffness eases. You learn the handful of lifts we'll build everything on. Sleep is often the first thing people notice improving.

Sessions 4–7

It becomes an appointment, not a decision.

Strength baselines move. You have a few nutrition rules that survive client dinners. Showing up stops costing willpower.

Sessions 8–10

You notice it on the stairs.

Energy holds through the afternoon. You've trained around the old injury without aggravating it. We review and plan the next ten.

Starting points and pace differ from person to person. I don't promise numbers or dates. I promise structure, consistency, and honest feedback.

Your coach

I know what the first session back feels like.

I've coached for more than ten years, in Paris, Los Angeles and New York. I'm an active amateur boxer, ten fights and eight wins across three weight classes, and an endurance runner with 5Ks, 10Ks and half marathons in Paris, New York, Geneva, Los Angeles and Taiwan.

I'm also someone who has had to rebuild more than once. Injuries, health setbacks, and stretches where life simply took over. At one point I was nearly fifty pounds heavier than the person I remembered being. I know the hesitation of walking back into a gym, the frustration of remembering what your body used to do, and the quiet suspicion that you've waited too long.

You haven't. You don't need to keep up with anyone or apologize for where you're starting. My job is to meet you exactly where you are and build a way forward that fits the life you actually have.

Fit

This works best for a particular kind of person.

You'll do well here if

  • You're over 40 and haven't trained consistently in a few years.
  • You have a demanding job, a family, or both.
  • You have an old injury you'd rather train around than ignore.
  • You can commit to two sessions a week for ten weeks.
  • You'd rather pay for structure and expertise than spend another year figuring it out.

It's probably not for you if

  • You're looking for the cheapest option.
  • You want a six-day bodybuilding split.
  • You want a program by email and nobody checking in.
  • You need a result guaranteed by a date.

Questions

What people ask before they book.

I'm in the worst shape of my life. Shouldn't I get a bit fitter first?

No. That's the most common reason people wait another year. The first session is an assessment, not a test. We start at whatever level you walk in at, including zero.

I have a bad back, knee or shoulder.

Good to know, and not a dealbreaker. We start with a movement screen and your injury history, then build around it. The goal is to get stronger without aggravating it. If something needs a doctor or a physical therapist first, I'll say so.

I don't have time. I barely had time to read this page.

Two 60-minute sessions a week is a realistic place to start. I come to you, so there's no commute, no locker room, no waiting for a rack. Your sessions are standing appointments at fixed times, protected the way you'd protect a board meeting. We fix the days and times on the consultation call.

Where do we train?

Across Manhattan: your home, your building's gym, or a private gym. Select parts of Brooklyn and Queens by arrangement. If you don't have equipment at home, we sort that out on the call.

What about nutrition? I eat out constantly.

I don't write meal plans or ask you to weigh food. We talk through a few simple habits that hold up on a busy schedule, like enough protein, a consistent breakfast and fewer meals eaten standing up. If you need a full nutrition plan, I'll point you to a registered dietitian.

Is this boxing training?

Only if you want it. Boxing is one tool I use for conditioning. It's hard, it's fun, and it doesn't feel like a treadmill. If you'd rather never put on gloves, you never will.

I'm a woman in my 40s or 50s. Will strength training make me bulky?

No. It will make you stronger. After 40, strength training is one of the most effective ways to support bone density and joint health. I train men and women, and the program is built around your goals, not a template.

How fast will I see results?

Sleep and energy often move first, within the first few weeks. Strength baselines climb through the first ten sessions. Visible change, in how clothes fit and what you see in the mirror, follows consistency over time. I don't promise numbers or dates. I promise structure, consistency and honest feedback.

How does scheduling and rescheduling work?

We agree the scheduling and rescheduling terms in your training agreement, which you sign before your first session.

Next step

Fifteen minutes. No pitch.

Tell me where you are and what you want back. If I'm the right coach for you, we book your assessment. If I'm not, I'll tell you who is.

Prefer to talk first?

Prefer to write first? Answer a few questions and I'll get back to you. Already decided? Book a 60-minute private session.
